Kangaroos of Australia

This is a picture of a kangaroo. The kangaroo is jumping over a body of water. This picture teaches what the kangaroo looks like. It also teaches how the kangaroo moves and what body parts the kangaroo has (notice the long stride and the tail). This picture relates to the other pictures because it is an image of the most "famous" animal to come from Australia. People frequently associate kangaroos with Australia. In this picture, students should look for the long tail on the animal, the small hands, the erect ears, the large feet, the color of the animal, and the

long stride that the animal has taken. All of these things relate to how the animal lives. It has a long tail for balance, erect ears to listen for danger, large feet to ensure a safe landing after each stride, a brown color so it can conceal itself when necessary, and it takes long strides to move quickly.
